In this short article, I will tell you the reason why 70% of people on the internet do not make money online but before then let me give you a brief of my own experience.
I came into the online space in 2011 and became very active in 2012. I started with Freelancing, selling some gigs on Fiverr.com, seoclerks e.t.c. The two persons who brought me into this freelancing and other make money online niche were Mr Olaide Alim and Prof Gbolagade Olatunji. Those days I bought a lot of their courses trying to figure out how to make money online. I made some few Dollars from selling my gigs on fiverr, seoclerk and the rest. But did I crack the code? No. I will tell you why in a jiffy.
In late 2016 I came to know about Crypto and I started doing all manner of things to make money with Crypto. Did I succeed then? No and I will tell you why.
In 2018 I went into affiliate marketing promoting products from warrior Plus and JVzoo and paydot.com.. I have always been a very zealous guy especially when I find a new niche or venture. Did I also succeed in this? Little but not a huge success.
Even before venturing into freelancing, I went in to Multi Level Marketing, promoting many products and programs including Smart Contracts. I promoted GNLD, TLC, Oriflame, Alliance Global, Growing Circle, Touch Lives, H2i, Recharge and Get Paid, Forsage, Meta Force, not to mention some Ponzi schemes, MMM, Givers Forum, Speed coin, even created Family Circle myself. But did I crack the code? No.
I struggled for many years to break through and start making money online but I didn’t crack the code until a few years ago precisely in 2021. This short article will not be able to contain my discoveries in these years of my experience but I will mention a few of them for those who will stop at this article.
Now to the Main reason for this article. I want to share with you some of the reasons why majority of people do not make money doing online business. Let’s dive into them.

- Ignorance or Lack of Knowledge:
Part of what I discovered is that one major problem people have is lack of knowledge. Not knowing what to do is a disease. What you do not know is bigger than you. As you are reading this article, Many people are getting alert, funny enough, these are people not too far from you. Many of us are not receptive to knowledge but the major problem is not about your lack of knowledge but this syndrome of jumping into things without proper and adequate knowledge of how it works. Most of the businesses I jumped into in the past I never sat down to study how they work. Even though I was buying courses, most times, I take the courses in a hurry and jump in without mastering it through the act of practice.
2.Not Knowing The HOW TO Money Making:
I have now discovered that there is a HOW to make money, until you crack this code, I bet you will waste a lot of time trying in futility. Money flows in exchange for value. This sounds so simple but the truth is that many people have not cracked the code. Many people rush into business without knowing what it takes to make money. We chase money and never got it. You struggle for money but money does not come by struggle otherwise barrow pushers will be the richest. The Bible said in Ecc 10:15 “The Labour of the Foolish Wearies him, for he does not know how to enter the City” Money Making has a How and until you decode it, you will never make money. - Not Following The Trends:
Another reason why many do not make money is their inability to follow the trend. You must understand that money moves in a pattern. Money flows in a particular direction at a particular time and until you understand this, you will never catch the money. When I started, it was the wave of Freelancing, Google AdSense, Mini importation and the likes, later the wave of information marketing, then Affiliate marketing, today it is the era of all the business enabled by web 2.0 and 2.5 and now gradually we are moving from Web 2 to Web 3, Blockchain technology and the likes. Some trends take a very long time while some are short-lived. Even at that, you need to understand that these trends also can be peculiar to regions even from year to year. For you to position yourself, you need to understand the direction money is going now.
- Not Planning The Year Ahead:
Planning itself is a huge factor if you must succeed in whatever you are doing, this one cuts across all spheres of life. What I discovered during my cause of trial and error is that I jump into business without planning for it. I usually approach every year unplanned until I learnt the secret. You need to plan and know clearly what you need to do, which type of business to face, which niche, which trend, what should be my focus in the coming year or in the year I just began? Knowing clearly what to do will help you study it further to know the exact strategy to follow and once the year enters you hit the ground running. Year 2025 is coming. What exactly do you want to do? What strategy will you apply to make money, which particular Business do you want to face? All these are necessary if you will ever make money. - Not Knowing Which Business To go Into
This is another disease plaguing a lot of people. When the year begins, people will start jumping into one business or the other. Doing trial and error and the problem with this is that every business takes time to master and stabilize, so when people jump into different businesses not being sure of what they want, 2 months, 3 Months they are still trying to study and master it and of course there will be obstacles. When this happens, they jump out and try another one which will take them another 3 months and definitely they could meet another objection. Before you know it the year has gone half and frustration starts setting in. It will be worse when they experiment many at once, I will talk about this at the next point. This is one major reason why people fail. You need to know which direction exactly to follow. For instance, we have barely one month to enter the new year, You should know clearly what to do and what to go into in year 2025 that is coming. This is where you need a mentor if you do not know what to do. Get information from someone or those who have it and study as well as plan yourself. I can assure you will see success. - Doing Or Trying Too Many Things At The Same Time
This was one of my greatest obstacles to making huge success online when I started. What I mentioned above was like half of what I did and tried. If I go specific in any of those niches you will easily find out why I wouldn’t be a huge success. Please avoid this disease, it’s worse than HIV and Covid19 put together. Emmanuel Akpe called it Dabbling when he was discussing the reasons why You are still Broke. When I read his book, I discovered why I didn’t succeed myself. Don’t get me wrong, I was making money but my achievements for over ten years would have been 100 times better if I knew this earlier. Why this plague is very dangerous is that we are in the information age and information overload is a similar disease. Doing so many things at a time will ruin your money making career online, trust me. You will become Jack of all Trade Master of None. PLEASE FOCUS ON ONE OR TWO THINGS UNTIL YOU SUCCEED. Diversification is a key factor in the journey of success but following one until you master it will help you a great lot. More on this. - Not Having The Write Mentorship and Modeling:
This is the final point I will make in this article, more in my Class. What I lacked when I started is inability to discover that hardly can you succeed and have a lasting success if you do not have the right mentorship or at least people you are modelling by learning their Strategies. Yes I was buying Courses and I was following Olaide, Prof Gbolagade, Patrick Ogidi and co then but they were not mentors, they were just young guys who learned how to make money online and started implementing what they were taught and I started copying and following them, hence helping them to sale their products by buying them but I was never under any kind of mentorship. Until I started reading Books, Watching and following YouTube Channels of seasoned guys, Paying and joining Telegram and WhatsApp Groups of seasoned Coaches, I didn’t crack the code. I have been reshaped by people like Akin Alabi, Emmanuel Akpe, Grant Cardone, Glynn Cosky, Julius Elum, Dr Olumide Emmanuel e.t.c - In Conclusion: One thing is sure, I have learnt through the rank and the truth is that there are many things I learnt personally from my Experience that no mentor can teach me. I can confidently tell you what to do to avoid my pitfalls. And I told myself that one assignment I have is not to allow willing Youths to pass through the path I went through. That is why I have given myself to adding value and impacting people as much as I can even without charging for it.
